why did the trade between dimonds and emeralds go away in the shop? It was helpful if you wanted a vilager egg and did not have away to get emeralds. -kitty4fun | why did the trade between dimonds and emeralds go away in the shop? + | Why did you delete the saddle exchange? are they not being sold anymore? ~Darynu

+ | I don't want to break the game's balance. Mazznoff mentioned that he wanted to sell legit saddles and I don't want the admin store to replace the regular market (unlike Kurwa Bank, partially). --- //Enton 2013/04/09 05:03//

Most just the first two though, but the others would be nice. :I | Most just the first two though, but the others would be nice. :I
I agree only with pig saddles, the rest are pretty common and you can find people selling them. --- //[[people:mazznoff|mazznoff]] 2013/02/17 08:56// | I agree only with pig saddles, the rest are pretty common and you can find people selling them. --- //[[people:mazznoff|mazznoff]] 2013/02/17 08:56//

+ | =====Kurwan Central Banking Co.=====
+ | Looking through the market, I saw not just fluctuations in price that one would expect (selling 1x for 2y, but buying 1x for 1y), but radically different ideas of what an emerald was worth. At one stand it was worth like 6 cookies, but at another it was worth 2 diamonds. I had a shitload of materials just sitting in a vault at Kurwa mons and wasn't doing anything with them so I decided to build a "bank" at the market that would attempt to stabalize and quantify the value of an emerald. I intend to do so by offering straight exchanges of emeralds and valuables (diamond,iron,gold,glowstone,obsidian): buying and selling for the same rate. Instead of using my wealth to get more wealth, I intend to use it to help the other, less fortunate players on the server. I also decided not to include more than these 5 materials in my straight swaps because I did not want to disrupt their worth. The worth of iron vs. diamond is relatively obvious and agreed upon, but perhaps what a saddle or an ender pearl is worth to one man is different than to another and I would not want to disrupt jews from jewing more than I have to by arbitrarily setting prices for such items. Instead, I set the "prices" for only a few items and those prices are as follows:\\
+ | 1 diamond = 2 emeralds\\
+ | 2 gold = 1 emerald\\ | ||
+ | 16 iron = 1 emerald\\ | ||
+ | 8 glowstone = 1 emerald\\
+ | 4 obsidian = 1 emerald\\
+ | This seemed reasonable to me based on the relative scarcity and usefulness of each substance in addition to the labour required to mine said substance. I am open to changing these exchange rates, however, if people find them to be flawed. By having the option to exchange emeralds for and from other more common yet more difficult to obtain materials, I hope to stabalize their value. The end result should be that emeralds are worth less than they are currently, but currently there are very few emeralds in circulation despite them being a renewable and easily accessible material when dealing with yevs. I found that people just weren't taking advantage of this fact and so I did it for them. I believe this will not be damaging but will instead stabalize the market and provide the players with a benchmark to negotiate more rational contracts. --- //[[people:vladimirr|v1adimirr]] 2013/02/27 22:03// |
