A physically defined border is defined as a Border which confirms to the following requirements a minium:

  1. Being Demarcated by non-natural blocks that are placed above ground, and topped with torches (hereforth referred to as 'markers'), and paced in intervals not to exceed 20 blocks in length; and
  2. Having signs, illuminated, placed at least 3 blocks inside the nation; facing towards the border; and in intervals parallel to the border not exceeding 100 blocks; and
  3. Having a Sign; Flag; and/or Banner, illuminated, placed at each and every crossing of the border; and
  4. Having A cleared bufferzone including, and extending 3 blocks from the border, with no structures or trees within; exempting the markers.

Not withstanding, if a secton of the border runs across a body of water in a manner which the border continues the opposite side, the only demarcation requirement is that there shall be a marker placed on each side, within 3 blocks of the waterline, and a sign placed presuant to req. 2; or if the border does not cross to the opposite, the only requirement will be a marker placed on the shore, within 3 blocks of the water line, where the border continues into the water, and a sign placed presuant to req. 2; unless the body of water is the following:

  • A: The section of the border is goes through a narrow strait or narrow inlet; or
  • B: The section of the border follows a river; in which case

In this case:

  • For the purposes of (A) signs shall be posted; on land; in manner outlined under req. 2; with the waterline being considered the border for its purposes; with narrow defined as being able to see the opposite shore across the strait or inlet on 'small' render distance; this section shall only apply as long as land can be seen across the strait or inlet.
  • For the purposes of (B), markers shall be placed on the banks within 3 blocks and parallel to the waterline, in a manner prescribed by req. 1; reqs. 2 and 3 shall be applying; with the waterline being considered the border for their purposes.

All signs announce what nation the territory within the border belongs to.

Island nations are exempt from demarcation unless they fall under the narrow strait provision
